Discontinued items

At MK Home Design, we receive about 25 to 40 requests a week from people looking for items that have been discontinued. Most of the people who call or e-mail us while attempting to find that one item that they are missing from a collection have already or are on their way to calling other dealers with the same request. Most dealers are honest and will tell you that the item or items are indeed discontinued and are no longer available before taking your order.

Consumers will unfortunately obtain the same answer from most: once an item has been discontinued and its stock depleted, the only way in which it can be obtained is by purchasing it from a dealer who just might have one left in their showroom floor or warehouse.

Finding that one dealer (if successful) can be a tedious process. Odds are definitely stacked against you while trying to obtain that last item.

How can we help you find that last item? In our experience, we have found that instead of calling hundreds of dealers to see if any of them might have that discontinued item, you are probably better off calling the manufacturer directly. Once you get a hold of a customer service representative, you should ask him/her to provide you with the phone number or e-mail address of your local sales representative. (We can help with you with this.)

Once you have this information, you should ask your local sales representative to see if they can look up the stores to which they sold that specific item to last. Since major manufacturers have hundreds of dealers nationwide, this is definitely a great way to narrow down your search for that last item that might just complete your room.

Should you need any additional help with discontinued items, please contact our sales department at 1-877-302-4233 and we’ll be happy to assist you.
